Women In Math
.... members, “ Why don't you be like your mother and stay
home and raise the children.” is a common line used. This is most likely
because the parents don't want to see their daughter go out and fall flat on her
face when she doesn't make it. There is little support from others if a woman
wants to go into these fields. Equal opportunities is also a large factor in
this, either as a decision maker wether to go into the field or not or cold hard
facts. Facts like 90 percent of engineering, math and sci .....

Academic Attitude
.... making her knowledge active, the student is able travel past the
surface and explore the information in a deeper sense. In doing this, learning
does not become a habit. Rather, instead of memorizing material to perform well
on a test, or regurgitate it into a paper, the pupil synthesizes the information
presented, relating it to other things, hence, learning about the subject.
Information, then, is no longer strictly exchanged from teacher to student. It
allows the learner to open her mind, liberalizi .....

.... different distances such as yards, feet, inches, centimeters,
millimeters, and so on. Obviously rulers cannot be used to measure all
distances because some distances may be too small to be measured practically
with the naked eye.
Hypothetically speaking, let's say you had a worm and a razor blade. Let's
also hypothesize that this particular worm is two inches long. Now if you were
to cut this worm exactly in half you should have "two worms" each one inch long.
If you then took one of those .....

Only the boys went to school, and at first the rich boys only went to school.
Only men learned to read and write. All schools were private schools and

Schools Should Prepare Children For Life In Society
.... is
successful, but as soon as the school board notices his ambitions, he gets
suspended for some odd reason.
If a teacher in Germany tries to influence students in the way that they are
more creative that is generally seen as positive, but what almost makes this
impossible is the number of students in a class and the time frame of just 45
minutes, which is short if you are going to hear all the different opinions of
all the students.
If we accept that there do exist problems in society that need to get .....

Discipline In The Classroom: Past And Present
.... teachers (who especially liked the idea of
physical punishment) took advantage of the minor guidelines set by the principal
to protect students from excessive physical beatings. These guidelines varied
from school to school, but often included length, width and thickness of the
paddle or any other weapon used, the amount of times the student may be struck
by the weapon, and other minor details about other types of physical punishment.
The list of weapons that were acceptable for teachers to use include .....

Principle Of Management Course: My Experiences
.... is used, abused and expressed by
those in control. Therefore, I came into the Principles of Management course
with the notion that I was going to be learning about power. This notion was
challenged as I learned that there are three different perspectives that are
used to analyze an organization.
There are three different perspectives used to view organizational
behavior and processes: Strategic-Design, Political and Cultural. Initially, I
was looking at the organization and the process of mana .....

What Psychology Is To Me
.... a working definition of
the term psychology extremely difficult to attain.
The range of topics that are considered psychology is very surprising to
a newcomer in the field. Everything from determining which parts of the brain
are responsible for controlling certain senses to analyzing the influence of
society on behavior and development is considered “psychology”. So it is
obvious that my original definition was extremely limited, but it has now been
vastly broadened.
In addition to recognizing the b .....

Physical Education In Secondary Schools
.... The fourth is a physically fit person "knows the implications of and
the benefits from involvement in physical activity". The last factor is that a
physically fit person "values physical activity and its contributions to a
healthful lifestyle". The plan as physical educators is to have each child be a
physically fit person, by their exit of high school. This will take some work
but I believe it could be done.
Another very important issue to be learned in secondary physical
education .....

unjustifiably paying them extraordinary salaries. While this may be a valid
concern, the regulations are most often carried out to ridiculous lengths which

Northwestern University has an aspiring young actor named Darnell Autry who also
happens to be the starting running back for the University's football team.
Darnell was offered a role, based entirely on his acting abilit .....

made about clothes will suffice. But in the view of someone else, the problem

Both previous solutions may in some cases fail. If so, writing about not

It may look as if the assignment was quickly jotted down due to the fact that
there is no research to do, but if it is well written it can turn out to be a

Personal Writing: The College Experience

homework and studying are not always my first priorities. I would much rather
spend time with my friends, watch television, or go to a party than do my
schoolwork. I have found that all the distractions that are present in college
life lead to procrastinating. There have been many times when I have put off
doing an assignment until the night before. It is obvious that as a college
student, I have had to adapt to a whole new style of learning.
Another thing that I have had to adapt to is li .....
