The Scarlet Letter And A Tale Of Two Cities: A Comparison
.... been spared the entire encumbrance of the
crime if she did not deceive the townspeople. Although seemingly, her paramour
did not escape punishment.
In fact, the father of her bastard child took a more severe sentence.
Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale seemed to be an upstanding, young priest. The whole
town liked him and respected him as a holy man. Thus, his deception was much
more direct and extreme when he did not confess that he impregnated Hester
Prynne. Unlike Hester, he was not publicly punished. So .....

Animal Farm
.... was just a metaphor, and there were no
"animals" in the story. As I read I discovered the whole thing was a
metaphor.
The five topics I'll be covering are:
1. plot structure
2. conflict
3. point of view
4. symbolism and figuration language
5. theme and author's vision
I hope this essay shows the ideas of Eric Blair and the freedom we
have under government control.

The story starts off in a form called "Manor .....

Animal Farm: Utopia
.... Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland,
Beasts of every land and clime,
Hearken to my joyful tidings,
Of the golden future time.
Soon or late the day is coming,
Tyrant Man shall be o'erthrown,
And the fruitful fields of England,
Shall be trod by beasts alone.
Rings shall vanish from our noses,
And the harness from our back,
Bit and spur shall rust forever,
Cruel whips no more shall crack.

Summary Of Orwells' Animal Farm
.... from "Four legs good, two legs bad!" to "Four
legs good, Two legs better!" The animals began to walk on two legs and the
goal that Old Major was talking about in the beginning (that all animals
would soon overtake all man and man would serve animals) was soon to be no
more. So this proves without doubt that Lord Action was right (in this
book) when he said "Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

Anna Karenina: Characters And The Life Novel
.... a flat character is definitely presented in a manner which
allows him to have a sense of lifelikeness and fullness. From the speech
patterns the waiter uses to the description of the fit of his uniform, one
is presented with the details that allow the waiter to contribute to the
novel in means beyond simply the presence of a minor character. His
description and actions provide the novel with a sense of "real life".
Another way in which Tolstoy gives the minor character a sense of
life is by making them .....

To Kill A Mockingbird: Controversial Issues
.... what the other birds sing. Hence, we
see the mockingbird through the other birds. In the novel, the people of
Maycomb only know Boo Radley and Tom Robinson by what others say about them.
Both of these characters do not really have their own "song" in a sense,
and therefore, are characterized by other people's viewpoints.
Throughout the novel, Scout, Jem, and Dill are curious about the
"mysterious" Boo Radley because he never comes outside of his house or
associates with anyone in the neighborhood. The c .....

the empty one. This was in the book as,
He was about to pass him through when,
for safety's sake, he crushed the mitten
that Shukhov held out to him - the empty one. (Solzhenitsyn, Pg.

The smart move that he does is to place the empty mitten on top and take
the risk that the guard will only search the empty one. Shukhov was lucky.
Another example of having to be smarter is after they find the wood panels,

Flaws In Twain's "The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn"

shortly after the time when Huck says, “It's me. George Jackson, sir”(pg.

(The King) come along there seem to be four or five stops along the river
that except for one little detail, are the same. Please excuse the jump
back, but how coincid .....
