Film Review: Shindler's List
.... had no plan, to have improvised out of impulses that remained unclear even to himself.
It begins with Schindler, a tall, strong man with an intimidating physical presence. He dresses expensively and frequents nightclubs, buying caviar and champagne for Nazi officers and their girls, and he likes to get his picture taken with the top brass. He wears a Nazi party emblem proudly in his buttonhole. He has impeccable black market contacts, and he's able to find nylons, cigarettes, brandy: He is the right m .....

Macbeth: Macbeth's Character
.... energy and the euphoria which follows. He also rejoices no doubt in the success which crowns his efforts in battle - and so on. He may even conceived of the proper motive which should energize back of his great deed:
The service and the loyalty I owe,
In doing it, pays itself.
But while he destroys the king's enemies, such motives work but dimly at best and are obscured in his consciousness by more vigorous urges. In the main, as we have said, his nature violently demands rewards: he .....

King Lear: The Quest For Power
.... in a plot with France to kill The Duke of Cornwall. The King decides that Gloucester’s supposed treachery cannot be tolerated and orders that his eyes be torn out. At this point, Edmund seems to be unequivocally evil. This is undoubtedly false.
Two of the other characters of the play, Goneril and Regan surely equal Edmund’s ferocity in their quest for power. Our first glimpse at the two surely begins to prove that fact. In this scene, the King asks that each of his three daughters profess their undying .....

Springer Vs. Winfrey: The Battle Of The Talk Show Giants
.... his homosexual neighbor was stalking him. Shocking, but the list of dangerous love triangles, broken homes, devil worshipers and the popular talk topic of the Klu Klux clan goes on. The Springer show is a display and misuse of societies’ moral tragedies. Yet people love to be voyeurs to the moral dilemmas of others.
Oprah Winfrey was once a follower of the same trash TV format, but her long running popular TV talk show changed for the better. Like the Jerry Springer show, the Oprah Winfrey s .....

The Foils Of Hamlet

When Polonius spies on Hamlet and the Queen, Hamlet thinks that it is the king who is spying behind the curtain, and without knowing who it really is he stabs Polonius and kills him. Polonius also has the same problem, but with much tamer results. Polonius usually ends up just making himself sound like a babbling fool by not thinking things out first. Ansel Adams' Moon And Half Dome
.... one has to look up at something, it brings on a feeling of insignificance. Another thing that gives the viewer the feeling that Half Dome is massive is the size of the moon in relation to the rock. Although it is actually small in the Earth's sky, the moon always has the influence of being great, and anything that dwarfs it can become ominous. The black and white of the photograph also assists in giving the viewer the impression that Half Dome is enormous. The darkness of the sky draws the eye to it becaus .....

.... have been silenced, lost hidden, or neglected through the centuries, that is in large part because they have lacked an audience aware of their existence or willing to consider their work". (page xxv) Although that statement is true, I don't think it ever occurred to the author that maybe Native Americans do not want nor do they feel the need an for audience in order for their art to be of value. To Native Americans their art is spiritual, meaningful and made as a part of life. Originally their art was no .....

The Debut Of Television In America
.... America. This is when television began to take the nation by storm.
Television slowly started to take over the lives of many. Families became less “family oriented”; family time, for the most part, was now spent in front of the TV. Dinner time, which used to be an important part of the day when many families came together, was now being spent apart, in front of the television. I suppose it could be concluded that from this, TV dinners came about; a quick and easy way to make a half way decent .....

.... music is used in theaters as part of plays. It is also sung by the Chinese in their own folk tunes and popular songs. Instruments and voices follow the same notes in unison, instead of blending in harmony, and the rhythms are typically Chinese. Chinese melodies are very different from American tunes. Chinese scales are extremely different from American ones. Chinese music is built on five or seven notes. American music is built on the eight-note octave, with five half notes. Many Chin .....

Stand By Me: Review
.... the dead body. This tune was played by a synthesizer. It was a very sad tune and was one that may have been played at a funeral at one point in time.
The other type of music I found was song scoring. Since the story took place in the 50’s of 60’s, most of the songs were from that time period. They usually came at points in the movie when nothing much else was happening. Either that or it was source music coming from the radio in the car. It mostly reminded me of care free living, and growing up lis .....

Hamlet's behavior throughout the play, especially towards Ophelia, is inconsistent. He jumps into Ophelia's grave, and fights with Laertes in her grave. During the fight with Laertes in Ophelia's grave, Hamlet professed how much he loved her when he said, "Forty thousand brothers could not, with all their quantity of love, make up my sum" [A .....
