The Caretaker By Pinter: A Play Can Be Confrontational, Challenging And
.... expected and what
they are going to gain from the theatrical experience. The traditional
attitudes towards theatre and the conventions of realist drama are
disrupted by Pinter. This confronts the assumptions and values of the
audience, an experience which would be disconcerting and frightening to
many.
Pinter divorces and exposes society's codes, institutions and human
relations. Throughout the play the audience is rarely comfortable. This
disruption is established from the outset of the play when Mick, a .....

The Big Chill: Symbolism
.... part of their lives was dead, or frozen.
This could refer to Alex, who had killed himself. Or it could refer to
their friendship, which pro bably dwindled down from an occasional phone
call to a seasonal letter or card, and eventually to virtual non-
communication.
The title could even have yet another "hidden" meaning. It could
refer to the group's total loss of communication with Alex. This could
have led to the point where nobody was able to see anything wrong with him,
because they just wer .....

Cinematography: Everything You Need To Know
.... the impression of
an image after it has been withdrawn from view. The critical flicker
frequency is the minimum rate of interruption of the projected light beam
that will not cause the motion picture to appear to flicker. A frequency
above about 48 interruptions a second will eliminate flicker.
Camera
Like a still camera (see CAMERA), a movie camera shoots each picture
individually. The movie camera, however, must also move the film precisely
and control the shutter, keeping the amount of light reachi .....

Gustave Courbet's Reclining Nude
.... her arms are crossed over her
head, her face is almost completely in the shadows; this shadowing covers
the detail of her face in such a way that she could be almost anyone. She
gazes wistfully at the ground to her left.
The woman is rendered very softly and is in a very sensuous pose. This
picture would have been found scandalous for its sexual overtones as was
Courbet's La Demoiselles au bord de la Seine. A scarlet cloth lies in
front of her; it has a very rumpled look which has sexual implicatio .....

Greek Architecture
.... consisted of a cella (back wall), a pronaos (columned porch),
an opisthodomus (enclosure), an antae (bronze grills securing the porches),
and a colonnade that provided shelter for visitors.
The earliest monumental buildings in Greek architecture were the
temples. Since these were solidly built and carefully maintained, they had
to be replaced only if destroyed. The architectural orders, Doric on the
mainland and Ionic in the eastern Aegean, were developed in the archaic
temples, and their lasting e .....

Robert Rauschienburg was also an American pop artist. He was born in 1925,

1964 and is the the third of three panels in a narrative arrangement.
As I Opened Fire is magna on a canvas which is 68 X 56. Its composition

.... thee." (III, v, 214-215) Lady Capulet is angered by Juliet's choice
and wishes "I would the fool be married to her grave." (III, v, 145)
Juliet's parents betray Juliet by not supporting Juliet's pleas for the
marriage to be delayed a year. Capulet and Lady Capulet do not know Juliet
is married to Romeo, a fact that may have, yet not likely altered these
circumstances. Her parent's betrayal causes Juliet to look for comfort from
the Nurse.
The Nurse also fails to support Juliet's choice against ma .....

BONGO.. Always American Made - Analysis Of Bongo Jeans Ad
.... knows that her hand
is a winner, and that her companion will soon be without even his shoes.
On the table are two glasses of milk. This is one of the most
powerful images in the ad. I believe they are there to counteract the
sexual overtones and idea of risk-taking in the ad. Milk is included as if
to say, "Even though these two young people are probably going to have sex
when the game is finished, they are wholesome, good people." Milk works
much better than using soft drinks, for example .....

Popular TV series also play a role as bad influences. Many shows
have the main character smoking or drinking. Take Rosanne, for instance;
the opening scene shows her sitting around a table playing poker, while her
husband smokes a cigar and drinks a beer. In Married With Children,
another show, Al sits around the house reading pornographic material, and
while working he ogles the women shopping in his sto .....

Antigone: Changing Views Of The Chorus
.... concerning the body of Polynices.
The chorus's next appearance blatantly shows their biased attitudes
against Antigone and her exiled father Oedipus. At this point they still
sing praise for King Creon and his unwavering decisions concerning the law
which was placed upon the city regarding the body of Polynices: “When he
weaves in the laws of the land, and the justice of the gods that binds his
oaths together, he and his city rise high--but the city casts out that man
who weds himself to inhumanity tha .....

The Play "Amadeus" Is Mainly Concerned With The Destructive Nature Of Jealousy
.... food and clothes immediately,
instead of saving it. He spends all his time churning out music in final
copy, which, although beautiful, doesn't earn money as would teaching music.
Mozart is really the one who should be jealous, as he has little in the way
of money or assets, or even respect. All he has is his talent and his
priceless music, but not the sense he needs to capitalise on it.
It isn't the fact that someone has more talent than him, the problem is, as
he sees it, that he isn't as good as .....

The Symbol Of Black In "The Crucible"
.... Elizabeth maybe felt black, like putting
herself out of the misery of all this charging rather than go along with it.
She gets blamed for many things that she did not do. For example she is
accused of poking Abby with a needle by a poppet.
Mary must also feel black because she meant no harm by putting a
needle inside of the poppet and yet she gets in trouble also. The black
signifies Elizabeth's anger hate for Abby. It is clearly shown when she
says that Abby should be ripped out of the w .....
