Mindwalk: International Relations
.... various topics about the world around them. As they all begin
to tell their side, it becomes clear why the author chose these characters.
Each has a very separate, very unique view on the subject he is trying to get
across: people's perception of the world.
As the day draws to a close, the three different viewpoints seem to
slowly diverge into a common thought: People need to view the world as a whole,
everything relying on each other, as nature and life, instead of a huge
mechanical machine. As .....

Movie Review: Yentl
.... traditional belief through its plot,
characterization, music, lights, camera angles, and symbolism.
Set in Eastern Europe in 1904, Yentl captures the essence of the Jewish
woman's eternal struggle. It is the story of a young girl, in love with
learning but forbidden to do so by Jewish tradition. Upon her father's death,
Yentl disguises herself as a boy to attend a yeshiva (religious school) and
continue her studies. She befriends Avigdor, a male scholar at the yeshiva,
and falls in love with him. D .....

Movie Review Of Jerry Maguire

his colleagues before realizing what a big mistake he made. His boss fires him
promptly. Only one client out of his previous 72, Arizona Cardinals wide
reciever Rod Tidwell (Cuba Gooding Jr.), remains faithful. Ironically enough,
his only concern is money. Only one former colleague, Dorothy Boyd (Renee
Zellweger), joins Jerry when he forms a new company. His memo inspired her. Her
five-year-old son, Ray (Jonathan Lipnicki), develops a huge crush on Jerry and

Movie Review: A Time To Kill
.... nothing. During a courtroom scene, Eileen Roarke (Sandra Bullock, in a
surprisingly small role for having top billing) helps Brigance to get the trial
moved to another town. Unfortunately, the judge (Patrick McGoohan) decides
against moving the trial. Brigance needs to get a jury of young, married men
with children. What does he get? A jury of women and old men. So Brigance has
his work cut out for him, especially when he is up against the cruel and
cheating Rufus Buckley (Kevin Spacey).
The film moves .....

National TV Turn-Off Week: A Dumb Idea
.... to people for years. But now people complain that we, as a people, are
watching too much T.V. They would have you believe that we could be doing
better things with our lives. They would have you believe that we can make more
out of ourselves. But what do they know? Have they ever done any research to
prove their theories? No, they haven't. But the people behind such propaganda
as National T.V-Turnoff Week really do believe that not watching television can
enhance your life, so let us examine .....

Nell
.... as a result of
being raised in seclusion. Fortunately, they were wrong. The speech that Nell
gave in the courtroom proved that she had developed intellectually. While the
language that she used was different, Nell still gave a good list of very
abstract ideas that someone who is mentally retarded could not possibly
comprehend. Nell understood why she was different saying that she was raised in
a small world and knew small things unlike the large things found in the city of
Charlotte, N.C. Th .....

George Lucas And Movies: No Future?
.... his graduate project and
thesis. It was his first attempt at directing and producing a Hollywood film.
His goal was to create a film that would show the future state of the world if
it was to continue on its path of the search for perfection of everything. He
shows the future as a place that many people would probably not want to live or
to be associated with.
Lucas shows that everyone will be the same. People will wear the same
clothes and have the same haircut. Names are no longer a part of society .....

Of Mice And Men: A Comprehensive Comparison Of Novel And Movie
.... own plot of land and a stake
in their future. George is a father figure and protector of the strong simple-
minded Lennie. Lennie's strength is his gift and his curse. Like the child he
is mentally, he loves animals, but he inadvertently crushes them to death.
Women, to him, are rather like animals, -- soft, small, and gentle. And there
lies the tension that powers this narrative to its tragic conclusion.
The film version and the novel are very similar. There is minimal
description in the novel, eno .....

time communicated that he wanted to watch the game. McMurphy had befriended
Chief and later discovered that he was not deaf and dumb but was only faking his
muteness and they planed to escape together.

Religion Is The Opiate Of The Masses
.... Do people really think I give a rat's ass if Uncle Joey makes it or
not?
I do not want to come across as saying that televison should be abolished
altogether, not at all. I personally love seinfeld and the occasional Beavis
and Butthead, but everything in moderation and nothing to excess, so to put it
simply, do not overdo it, or you will end up a moron who needs Tom Brokaw to
tell them what is right and wrong.

Movie Villains
.... by traveling to the farthest time ever in the face of the earth, probably
when the earth is completely destroyed. Other villains meet their doom with
being put in jail. There are a few movies in which the villains actually comes
out victorious, as in the movie Chinatown. Villains or antagonist are the
spotlights of most movies.
What is the origin of villains?
Villains have been around since evil has walked the earth. Movies have
made evil from all the different ages to come out, for instance Messal .....

A Clockwork Orange: Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish
.... Before going out, the gang goes to
the "milk bar" for some "milk plus" which is riddled with amphetamines. The
first violent act came not more than ten minutes into the movie. It was when
the boys, led by Alex, beat a helpless wino that asked them for some change. The
gang then strode away as if nothing occurred. They struck him repeatedly with
canes and they kicked him a few times to the job. Next, the boys went to see a
rival gang. This other group was in the middle of raping a woman when Ale .....

"Planet Of The Apes"
.... The apes and the humans would
have been co-inhabitants of the earth rather than creatues in a superior-
inferior relationship. "Planet of the Apes" is a perfect example of why
language is so important.
Another reason I am disputing Mr. Burrough's opinion of this movie is its
strong message concerning how humans were treated by apes. When we watched
"Planet of the Apes," we cannot fail to notice the mutes are treated. They were
beaten, battered and bruised; they were attacked and assaulted; worst .....

Powder
.... sort of role
model. In general, this idea could work, but the writer of this particular film
obviuosly missed the boat here.
Instead of the independence imbodied in most people, Powder belives in a
unification of all humans, every single one, through some sort of single-
consciousness. The idea of using Powder as a role model can work, but the
audience has to view powder as being worthy. Here Powder views people, unwilling
to accept the idea of a single-consciousness solely on faith, as closed-minded. .....
