Kent State University: May 4th 1970, Monday Bloody Monday The war in Vietnam was escalating and protests were being staged everywhere. This was a war that the U.S. people felt we didn't belong in. The truth is we weren't really wanted there either. More people would die in this conflict than in the previous Korean conflict.
