All the citizens in Oceania were practically under a "microscope" the whole day, except the Proles, mainly to keep a close watch for any traitors of the party like Goldstein. The telescreens were the primary things to maintain order on the land, and this is where "freedom is slavery" is done. It is because of these screens that everyone's personal freedom is really like slavery. The people are always being watched and hardly have any free will to do anything they desire. Many scenes i
