In William Shakespeare's sonnet "My Mistress' Eyes Are Nothing Like The Sun" the speaker uses a twisted version of the blazon technique, which lists and describes every body part of the mistress. The speaker expresses the idea that his mistress is not physically beautiful, and she has flaws, but he loves her anyway. I believe that the speaker expresses this idea in order to say that beauty is only skin deep, and there is more to a person than meets the eye. The beginning of the poem is misleading. It starts out as if the speaker is talking negatively about his mistress. "Her eyes are nothing like the sun" (1). The speaker is saying that he does not see her e
