Stereotype: Speaking Mandarin The most often stereotype that happens to me is generally placed by strangers. They look at you and decide that since you come from a certain race you should be able to speak your mother tongue. Obviously I am Chinese but I was born in Malaysia and came to Canada at a young age, making my ability to speak Mandarin very limited and at times none.
