REM's Losing my Religion: An Analsysis Religion an essential guide to peace and happiness for us as individuals or is it simply an easy way to control people who choose to follow it? That is a question I have asked myself for the last five years and to this day I do not have an answer. However, to shed a little light on the subject I have chosen to look into the R.E.M. song ‘Losing my Religion", because I feel that is what I have been doing for the last few years. The main concept being looked at in this essay is the concept of religion and its effect on society through the critiques of Emile Dukheim and Karl Marx. From this one concept I took four m
