The Death Penalty The death penalty has been a subject of much altercation ever since the dawning of the twentieth century. In this paper I will tell you why it should be abolished from the United States and give you facts to fully support my arguments. Fact # 1: Recent studies show that the crime rate in states with the death penalty is no lower than in the states that don't allow it. The United States is the only Western Democracy that enforces the death penalty, and yet we still have the highest homicide rate on the planet.
