The disease is named for the town of Old Lyme, Connecticut, where it was first discovered and diagnosed. Lyme Disease effects many people, as well as domesticated animals such as cats and dogs, as well as horses. The disease is most commonly found along the coastline and near water. It is very difficult to diagnose due to its many symptoms, that may or may not appear.
