Glass Ceiling in Corporate America Corporate America is defined as a generic term referring primarily to major U.S. corporations, including, but not limited to, the Fortune 1000 Industrial and the Fortune 500 Service Companies. In some instances, it also includes companies that have more than 500 employees and that have been in business for ten or more years. This means that Corporate America is a large group of organizations. Organization is defined as social entities that are goal-directed, deliberately structured activity systems with a permeable boundary. Corporate America is a huge playing field.
