"The Heptameron" The French Renaissance took place in the 16th century. This was modeled after the Italian Renaissance, which took place in the 14th century. The French Renaissance brought new ideals of humanism, which brought back the ideals of Greek and Roman arts and also stressed importance upon the individual. One humanist was Marguerite de Navarre.
