John Keats During the time that John Keats was born, it was known that “poets were born, not made.” At the time, the only people who were poets were either gentleman from upper classes, where they didn’t have to earn an income and they got it from their parents. Or men who were well educated with a lot of intellectual background which made it able for them to make a living off of their writings. When Keats was born, he was considered in the “Lower” class. The fact that he grew to become a poet whose writings have lived for nearly 1 ˝ centuries is almost unbelievable. The odds that he faced were incredible. With a little knowledge of his life, Keats poetry becomes much more meaningful. John K
