The 1930s The 1930s were times of great depression resulting in sweeping changes. Some people starved trying to find work, while others did all they could to just hang on a little longer. All across North America, tough times were had by all. My grandma had to walk two miles to school every day; the dust was so bad that she could only see a few feet in front of her.
